About the Role 

This role promotes patient safety and a culture of continuous clinical improvement and accountability throughout SpecialtyCare’s IONM service line by leading the deployment of patient safety initiatives, the identification and loop closure of critical quality opportunities (CQOs), and crafting policy and educational workflows.  This position is a leader in the IONM space, having demonstrated top-tier clinical acumen through a combination of high-acuity IONM competencies, operational management/direction of team(s) of IONM clinicians, and participation in IONM clinician development programs as a trainer, educator, and researcher.

What You'll Do

  • Provide remote IONM clinical support, using expert knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, anesthesia, and signal processing to resolve issues during live cases
  • Collaborate in real time with surgical neurophysiologists, remote monitoring physicians, surgeons, and hospital administrators
  • Identify Critical Quality Opportunities (CQOs) using variance data, KPIs, outcomes data, and competency metrics
  • Develop and own Performance Improvement and Corrective Action Plans
  • Conduct case audits and audits-of-auditors
  • Draft and maintain clinical policy for safe, effective IONM delivery
  • Support clinician training, research efforts, and educational resource development
  • Represent SpecialtyCare at company and industry conferences

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, biological sciences, electrical engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or related field (graduate degree preferred)
  • SpecialtyCare Senior Surgical Neurophysiologist I or higher (or equivalent)
  • 10+ years of experience in IONM clinical service delivery, clinical quality, research, or medical device/systems engineering
  • 5+ years in data-driven leadership roles (quality oversight, operations, education/training, or project management)
  • CNIM certification or DABNM diplomate status preferred
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency with MS Office and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, QLIK Sense, etc.)

Work Environment

  • Remote, home-based workstation for shifts of 7+ hours, up to 5 shifts/week
  • Some regional/national travel required, including occasional overnight travel
  • Flexibility for evenings and weekends as business needs require
