 Education:

 ·  Must possess one of the following education background and credentials:

o   Perfusionist – holds Bachelor of Science Degree in Perfusion Technology, Bachelor of Science Degree with a Certificate in Perfusion Technology, or a Master’s Degree in Perfusion Science from an accredited education program. Currently holds certification from American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or meets other Company requirements as a Perfusionist.  Perfusionist must have received certification as a certified clinical Perfusionist by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion within 3 consecutive attempts following Associate’s first eligible exam, or within 2 years of the Associate’s date of hire.

o   Registered Nurse (RN) – holds either an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited education program.  Has an active RN license to practice. 

o   Respiratory Therapist – holds either an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited education program and current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification. 

 

Experience:

 

·         Two (2) years recent experience managing Extracorporeal Life Support in a busy acute care facility.  

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

·         Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. 

·         Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 

·         Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees and organizations. 

·         Ability to speak clearly, write and understand English.

·         Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. 

·         Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in routine and/or emergency situations.

·         Training, knowledge and/or ability to learn essential duties and responsibilities.

·         Ability to operate or ability to learn to operate equipment used in performing above job responsibilities.

·         Must have the ability to prioritize and work well under pressure.

·         Requires a valid driver’s license, use of reliable transportation and automobile liability insurance.
