ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Design and develop Appian applications, including process models, interfaces, rules, and integrations as a subject matter expert and lead.
- Lead and Collaborate on projects with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Architect and implement scalable and maintainable Appian solutions.
- Conduct unit testing, system testing, and support user acceptance testing to ensure the quality of the applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Appian applications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and team members.
- Stay current with the latest Appian features, best practices, and industry trends.
- Document user stories, functional requirements, design / technical specifications, deployment processes, and maintenance procedures.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
Appian certifications (e.g., Appian Certified Associate Developer, Appian Certified Lead Developer) are highly preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum master (CSM) certification is desirable.
Experience:
- 10 years’ experience in leadership in Information Technology.
- Ability to lead an internal team and manage an external team developing Appian projects
- Ability to work with necessary internal team to determine ROI for new projects
- 5 - 7 years of hands-on experience in design, implementation, and production support of Appian BPM applications. Work experience must be with latest Appian version 22.X or higher.
- 5+ years’ experience as lead developer in Appian platform
- Experience in applying Object Oriented Analysis and Design principles.
- Experience in building custom plugins using Appian Custom plugin framework.
- Preference for direct experience with industry architectures/technologies including J2EE, SQL, ESBs, Web APIs, and related technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Automate is a plus
- Equivalent combination of education and experience, acceptable.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of business process modeling and optimization techniques, including orchestration of modeled process
Strong understanding of APIs and microservices
- Strong leadership ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Conceptual understanding of platform software architecture and performance implications
- Demonstrated ability being detailed oriented with the ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects, independently.
- Good problem-solving skills: define/understand the problem, identify constraints, work towards the best possible solution.
- Ability to analyze data, make informed decisions, and solve challenges effectively.
- Must have excellent analytical and communications skills and be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Strong emphasis as a team player that thrives in a cooperative team environment and presents themselves in a polished professional manner.
- Able to analyze risks in defect reporting, change of workflow requests or management defects.
- Successfully executed multiple implementations end-to-end on time, within budget.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of integrations, data, sprint planning, QA preparedness, and agile methodologies.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Expert in value stream mapping, root cause analysis, change management and project management
- Ability to show consideration for and maintain good relations with others.

Salary Estimate: $150,000 - $160,000 (Several factors, such as specific skill set, education level, certifications and years of experience, are considered to determine actual compensation.)
