PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Responsible for planning, developing, implementing and coordinating the clinical training program for new associates with no previous experience. Develops educational programs and instructs new clinicians to meet the organization's competency requirements for licensed and/or certified professional staff, meeting accreditation standards, as well as promoting an environment of quality care for patients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Support the development and implementation of the clinical education program to achieve high impact and significant advancement in clinical performance.
· Develop, prepare, manage, and revise didactic and practicum materials for trainees at the entry level.
· Measure and evaluate the value or impact of learning and performance solutions and create overall measures of system effectiveness; leverage findings for improvement and provide recommendations for change.
· Supervise trainees rotating through the training program and participate in the recruitment and hiring process, including interview and selection.
· Deliver lectures to trainees in person and via webinars.
· Maintain SpecialtyCare’s service line training handbook and manage the progress and clinical contributions/productivity of trainees.
· Manage any IONM University interns receiving clinical training through SpecialtyCare.
o review and approve weekly time sheets
o review and approve any expense reports
o track all credentialing related expenses for invoicing the university upon completion of the internship
o serve as a liaison between the university leaders and local clinical instructors
· Manage assignments for Regional Education Coordinators and Clinical Instructors, including:
o lead the Steering Committee meetings and provide the committee minutes and reports
o local orientation for SN I associates
o assignment of LMS modules
o hardware and software training
o delivery of lectures
o in-O.R. training, in-O.R. assessments
o administration of written and practicum exams
o preparation of associates for competency assessments
o administration of competency assessments
o provision of remote oversight/case audit(s)
o administration of case defense presentations
· Prepare associates for credentialing exams and track and report pass/fail rates for the certification examination, in comparison to national benchmark data.
· Create objective-based performance development plans and corrective action plans for associates as needed, in association with clinical competency expectations and the SpecialtyCare certification policy.
· Provide counseling and feedback to associates, in conjunction with Regional Education Coordinators and Clinical Instructors, to ensure successful development of clinical skills.
· Support leadership in the development of programs for new associates who may require additional didactic coursework and/or practical experience before taking on full-time clinical duties.
· Support leadership in the development of supplemental training programs for experienced associates who have identified practice gaps.
· Support leadership in the development of clinical progression programs to advanced skill sets.
· Serve as an educational resource and role model, and provides strong leadership in fulfilling SpecialtyCare’s mission of quality patient care.
· Participate in SpecialtyCare meetings that relate to clinical education activities.
· Duties will be split between education and clinical productivity as determined by operational need and at the discretion of leadership.
· Regularly attend national conferences in order to keep up with the industry, promote the program, and increase recruitment efforts.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
· Master's degree (M.A./M.S) preferred.
· CNIM and/or DABNM and/or BCS-IOM certification or equivalent.
Experience:
- 10+ years of IONM experience
- 5+ years of formal clinical instruction experience
- 5+ years of management or leadership experience (educational leadership preferred)
- Permanent residence in Nashville or ability to travel to Nashville regularly (minimum monthly)
- Demonstrated teaching experience
