Education:
• Graduate CAAHEP accredited END training program or
On the Job Training with minimum of One (1) to two (2) years of experience preferred.

Certifications:
• Certification by ABRET i.e. REEGT, REPT, PSGT, RVT, RVS or eligible
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathologic processes and aseptic techniques.
• Knowledge of procedures followed in conducting electrophysiological tests and examinations on patients.
• Knowledge of electrophysiological equipment used in performing tests on patients.
• Ability to interpret various electronic and neurophysiologic waveforms
• Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact with medical staff, patients, visitors, and other hospital employees.
• Ability to stand, turn and stoop among several types of equipment in an ICU setting.
• Ability to apply different types of electrodes with precision and speed in preparation of patient recording.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, while concentrating on monitoring in ICU environment.

Working Conditions:
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials with little likelihood of harm if established health precautions are followed.
• The use of protective clothing such as surgical clothing, gloves, glasses and masks.
• Work requires lifting supplies up to forty (40) pounds, pushing, or carrying bulky pieces of equipment.
• Occasional to frequent travel for short or long distances by motor vehicle and/or air transportation to healthcare facilities located in both urban and rural areas.
• Variable work schedules that may change from week to week, depending on case load, surgeon’s availability, creating situations that may require minimal notice to be available for a case. This may include working long hours without a break; working until the case is finished and the possibility of working on weekends.
• May require carrying a pager or use of a cell phone for “on-call” during non-scheduled work time to cover emergency cases.
• Usually working independently of other SNS Clinical Associates
