Certified First Surgical Assistant

Requirements

• Education Requirements: U.S. Post-Secondary Certificate or Associates Degree or foreign equivalent in Medicine or closely related. Employer will accept degree of Doctor of Medicine, or foreign equivalent.

   

  Experience Requirements: 5 year’s experience in job offered, Certified Surgical House Physician (surgical assistant), Associate Physician, or closely related.

   

  Special skills requirements:

   

  1.                  Experience assisting surgeons on surgeries

  2.                  Experience as a first assist on open heart surgeries

  3.                  Experience as a first assist on robotics surgeries

  4.                  Experience preforming harvesting (endovascular) of saphenous vein

  5.                  Experience with advance laparoscopic surgery in general and urological surgery settings

  6.                  Experience with ultrasound diagnosis for the purpose of diagnosis

  7.                  Must hold a certification of Advancements in Open and Minimally Invasive Surgery for the Surgical Assistant

  8.                  Must hold a certification as a “Surgical Assistant -Certified” issues by the American Board of Surgical Assistants.

  9.                  Must hold a current BLS card
