QUALIFICATIONS
·
Associate’s
degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
·
2 years related
experience and/or training.
·
Equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
· Knowledge of basic electronics.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Windows based computer systems.
- Considerable knowledge of
electronic circuitry and technical aspects of the operation, repair and
maintenance of electronic equipment.
- Considerable knowledge of the
application of computers and how they interface with medical equipment.
- Basic knowledge of
computer networking.
- Considerable knowledge
of current regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of basic
anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of color code
conventions used in component and writing marking.
- Ability to analyze,
repair and test electronic mechanical equipment.
- Ability to perform
preventative maintenance inspections.
- Ability to interpret
schematics, wiring diagrams and illustrative parts drawings of biomedical
instrumentation.
- Ability to maintain
accurate records of repairs, calibrations and tests.
- Ability to formulate a
sound decision using the available information.
- Possessing the trait of
being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task.
- Ability to find a
solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.
- Ability to be internally inspired
to perform a task to the best of one’s ability using his or her own drive
or initiative.
- Ability to calculate and apply
concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to show
consideration for and maintain good relations with others.
- Ability to read and interpret
documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,
and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports
and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before
groups of customers or employees of organization.
· Ability
to travel as needed and work outside of normal hours to provide support for
associates as well as any equipment maintenance that can only be done during
non-business hours.
