SpecialtyCare continues to grow and we’d like you to grow with us! We are seeking an Area Clinical Manager - IONM to lead our Southeastern Region's IONM Teams.
The ideal candidate will be located in the Southeast US preferably in one of the following locations, Atlanta, Ga, Jacksonville, FL, Pensacola, FL, Tallahassee, FL, Birmingham, AL, Mobile, AL or any other city within the Southeast US with an airport to easily access the previous listed cities.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Collaborate with clinical managers in building and maintaining business relationships with customers and physicians to grow and retain accounts. Serve as the Area Clinical Manager at multiple accounts or programs in a specific geographic area and may manage staff, productivity, scheduling, inventory, physician relations, and IONM activities to achieve or exceed operational and financial targets. Perform IONM services on a regular basis and manage IONM associates at the account(s) or program(s) to achieve targeted quality outcomes and compliance with The Joint Commission standards, the Company’s policies, applicable policies at the account(s) or program(s), and other applicable regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Build relationships with physicians, operating room staff, and customers including hospital administrators, and hospital materials management and billing employees to:
- Market new services.
- Meet contractual requirements;
- Resolve IONM, credentialing, operational or business issues;
- Maintain client satisfaction;
- Retain and grow account(s) or program(s); and
- Collaborate with clinical managers to oversee day-to-day IONM and NDG activities at the account(s) or program(s) that may include but not be limited to the following as needed:
- Coordinate the scheduling of IONM associates across multiple teams, including vacation scheduling.
- Manage productivity, labor and the budget for teams to meet or exceed targets.
- Collect and report quality indicator data as required. Demonstrate quality improvement.
- Monitor IONM activities to comply with:
- The Joint Commission standards;
- The Company’s policies;
- Applicable policies at the account(s) or program(s); and
- Other applicable regulatory requirements including laboratory compliance.
- Monitor equipment operations and maintenance requirements.
- May serve as lead IONM technologist at the account(s) or program(s) for customers, physicians, vendors, and the Company’s business office associates.
- Follow sound inventory and equipment management practices.
- Ensure that appropriate capital equipment and disposable inventory is ordered, stocked and available for all procedures.
- Oversee the required documentation of procedures performed for medical and billing record purposes.
- Maintain current credentialing file for self and associates as needed.
- Develop and implement corrective action to address IONM and NDG, credentialing or operational issues such as charge capture, time reporting, quality reporting, information systems, and inventory management.
- Participate in appropriate hospital committees for demonstration of quality, process and outcome improvement. Present data to these committees and the surgeons on at least a quarterly basis or as needed.
- Perform IONM services on a regular basis based on credentialing privileges at the account(s) or program(s).
- Present in hospital operating rooms, observing IONM staff to assure adherence of SpecialtyCare’s standards and to build and maintain customer relationships.
- Provide area reporting of quality metrics, asset management, staffing and recruiting, local leadership, budget variances and customer account service growth.
- Provide support and offer direction for clinical and operational performance for service line to meet or exceed:
- Targeted quality outcomes by ensuring delivery of clinical services to standards of care.
- National quality and operational initiatives.
- Ensure equipment and supply efficiencies.
- Facilitate targeted staffing and productivity levels.
- Support hospital customer and physician needs.
- The Joint Commission requirements.
- Compliance with company guidelines and policies, applicable policies at customer accounts, and customer applicable regulatory requirements.
- Develop strategic quality improvement plans to:
- Provide evaluation, support, and best practices based on SpecialtyCare’s policies and procedures.
- Make recommendations, monitor and track improvements.
- Present improvements to SpecialtyCare leadership.
- Present quality report data to customers on-site on a quarterly basis or as needed.
- Manage employment activities of clinical managers at the account(s) or program(s) that may include but not be limited to the following areas:
- Recruit, interview, and hire new associates;
- Develop associates through orientation, training and education;
- Appraise and reward performance;
- Manage employee relations issues;
- Develop and manage open communications;
- Conduct regular associate meetings; and
- Manage change.
- Manage on-site implementation of new accounts and programs.
- Direct clinical managers and indirectly manage IONM and NDG associates at the assigned account(s) or program(s).
- Cover clinical manager responsibilities for direct reports who are on PTO or providing clinical coverage.
- Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws.
- Approve time reporting and expenses for direct reports.
- Maintain manager’s file for direct reports.
· Maintain regular communication with direct supervisor and others as directed in performing job duties, responsibilities and requirements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
· Bachelor of Science Degree or Graduate Degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent experience.
· Certification for Neurophysiological Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM).
· Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Experience:
· Six (6) years experience as an IONM Technologist.
o Additional levels of experience as a certified Technologist may vary by position based on IONM and operational needs.
· Equivalent combination of education and experience, acceptable.
· Previous clinical manager or equivalent leadership experience required.
